Who to Bet On In the Sweet Sixteen

Clemson vs Kansas Clemson +5

Clemson is a team that has had ups and downs this season, they won their first 15 games before losing to NC State. They have big wins against Ohio State And North Carolina and one really bad loss to Virginia by 25 points. This team has finally come into form, they are battle tested as a product of playing in the toughest conference and they are primed to not only cover but make an upset against a Kansas team that will rely heavily on their 3 point shot to win and has been untested in the tournament so far.

West Virginia vs Villanova Villanova -5

Villanova averages over 6 points more per game than West Virginia and their defense allows 10 points less. Look for Villanova to exploit West Virginia on the defensive end to get easy buckets on the offensive end.

Syracuse Vs Duke Syracuse +11

This is a game between two storied NCAA teams with two hall of fame coaches. The Blue Devils are young and while they are great they can be stopped. The key to success for Syracuse is slowing the game down to half court sets, that’s how UNC beat them in the ACC tournament and that’s how Syracuse should play them. Duke will probably win this but it will be much closer than an 11 point blowout.

Texas Tech Vs Purdue Texas Tech +2

Texas Tech faced one of the top prospects in college basketball, Mo Bamba a 7 footer who has great defensive prowess in round one, and took care of business. Purdue is similar in that regard where they also have a very tall team. Their 7-3 backup center Matt Haarms has taken over after the injury to their star 7-2 center Issac Haas who has been sidelined since the first round with a fractured elbow. Winning in the sweet sixteen without your best player is very hard, that’s why I’m taking Texas Tech + 2
